And thus, I reincarnated.
The first few years of my new life were a blur in my mind, one that I didn’t want to think too much about. It was a time when I transformed from a human being into a poop factory. My daily schedule was to wake up, eat, poop, wave my arms and smile for the happiness of the attentive women watching over the clan’s babies, and go back to sleep.
Arguably, the best life for a lazy person, but also extremely boring, especially with limited mobility. Yet, it wasn’t completely wasted either. I learned a few things whenever I wasn’t wetting my makeshift diapers.
First, I wasn’t in my world anymore. Second, the people around me were clearly on a prehistoric level of culture and civilization.
As for why I knew I wasn’t on Earth anymore, it was simple. Magic existed here, and the shock I received when one of the women used it in front of my baby eyes was so bad that the caretakers thought I was having a fit.
My mother, being the one who conceived me, was also part of the women taking care of the babies. Right after witnessing the woman producing water out of nowhere, I used my newly found fluency in the local language to draw my mother’s attention.
“Bluglu gygi, boba gaga brrroua!”
She nodded with understanding.
“Oh, you liked the magic, my baby?”
“Belu gagiba, gouge ba!”
I confirmed her words, even though I had no idea how she managed to understand my baby babbling nonsense. Such was the power of maternal love in these ancestral times.
My mother gestured toward the woman who had just used the mysterious power.
“Libes! Look how much Keon likes your magic.”
The woman in question approached us with a smile.
“Did you now, baby?”
She brought forth some more water, and I clapped my chubby hands joyfully.
“Gagaga!”
“Haha, is it fun?”
She showed me her magic some more, and after a while, I spoke to my mother again.
“Draa bloblu mani gororo!”
Her eyes shone.
“He says he wants to learn how to use magic, too.”
Libes looked at my mother weirdly.
“Why do you understand his babbling? No wait, did he really say that?”
She gave a wide smile.
“I’m his mom. Of course I understand him.”
“No, that’s not normal. I have no idea what my Dyla says.”
We all turned toward the aforementioned baby, who Libes had just left to come here. She was giggling happily by herself for no reason whatsoever in a very baby-like fashion, releasing incomprehensible sounds similar to mine.
“Ba! Babi go! Ga, hihihi!”
“Do you understand what she’s saying?”
My parent shook her head.
“Not at all.”
“Why not? Aren’t they babbling similarly?”
“Don’t ask me. I can’t understand your daughter, but my darling son is already such a great speaker!”
Her eyes, full of unconditional love, were watching over me. That’s right, Mom! Communication happens through love, not through sound waves!
“…Whatever. But, what do you mean, learning magic?”
“Just teach him. My son’s smart. He understands everything I say.”
“That also doesn’t sound very normal. Well, why not? I’m bored anyway. Let me fetch Dyla.”
She went back to her daughter, who was still cheerfully playing on the ground, and took her in her arms before depositing her next to me. Speaking of which, the sky was over our heads, but we weren’t truly outside. This was the end of the cave maze that our clan used, a closed-off space similar to an interior courtyard. There was no ceiling in that part of the cave system, allowing the sun to reach it and plants to grow. It was the perfect place to take the babies out, both safe and well illuminated.
When Dyla, bewildered by her sudden environmental change, started to play by pulling on some grass next to her, Libes began her teaching. It took a long time, not because there was a lot to say, but because she kept going on a tangent. She would suddenly switch topic to chat with my mother, and I had to keep reminding them of my rights to the precious knowledge.
To summarize, things were pretty simple, probably because clan people took things as they went without scientifically trying to analyze them. Every living being possessed magic, but not everyone had an equal amount of it. Without enough magic energy, it wasn’t possible to create any noticeable effect. On top of that, folks had specialties, just like how Libes could only use water magic. Using magic was simple. One just needed to think about it, and it would happen. It was all about the mind focusing on the task.
I was eager to try if I could use it too. However, now wasn’t the time. I felt a pain in my belly, a sign that I was getting hungry. Dyla, next to me, started to cry, and all the mothers in the inner clearing took their upper clothing off to prepare to breastfeed.
This was the time of day I loved the most. I, who had been without female contact for all my previous life, was now blessed with such a divine sight. The boobs came in all forms and shapes, from the perky ones to the large others, with some slightly sagging tits in the middle.
The amazing sight forced me to giggle perversely.
“Gul gul gul gul gul!”
Libes, hearing my cackle, looked at me oddly.
“Why does he laugh so weirdly whenever we start breastfeeding?”
“Isn’t he just so cute?”
My mom wasn’t exactly on top of the conversation, but even Libes and the other mothers didn’t think much of my visibly perverted actions. That’s right. This prehistoric time had no concept of pervert alert in the first place! People here were just too innocent in that regard.
I could act however I wanted, and they wouldn’t mind. It was a great help for someone like me, who had zero ability to restrain his inner perversion.
